A CUT ABOVE
Zora, known only as The Architect, feels the weight of measured time. The hourglass before her is a cold emblem of consequence, each grain marking the plus and minus of every choice she has ever made. Her unblinking gaze pierces the rough, ancient bark of the Tree of Life, engraved with her creed: “A CUT ABOVE.” This simple barrier separates her world, a realm of relentless, chaotic productivity, swirling with geometric light, from the desolate, primal landscape she longs for.
Across that divide, amid jagged lightning and crackling storms, stands Kajo, The Sentinel. The massive Dalmatian is more than her companion; he is a silent guardian, his spotted coat a map of the wildness he protects. Zora knows the truth: to live up to the inscription, she cannot be tethered to the frantic pace of her civilized world. She must harness the raw, untamed energy Kajo safeguards. Ignoring the dwindling sand, she steps forward, crossing the boundary to meet the sentinel and claim the brilliant, destructive vortex spinning just beyond his shadow, choosing freedom over measurement.
